About Us
Last updated
Lovely Hours is an independent blog about the relationships that matter most. Here is who writes it, how we work and how we keep our advice honest.
Our mission
Lovely Hours exists to make the people-work of life a little easier. We write about the relationships that shape our days: with a partner, with children, with parents and siblings, with friends. Our aim is advice that is warm, honest and practical enough to try tonight.
We do not promise perfect families or instant fixes. We think most people are doing their best with little time, and that a clear explanation and one good next step beat a long list of rules.
What we write about
- Parenting: calm, practical help from sleepless baby months to the teenage years.
- Love and Dating: honest advice for every step, from first messages to knowing when it is real.
- Relationships: how to talk, fight fair, rebuild trust and when to let go.
- Family and Friends: staying close, setting kind boundaries and mending what has frayed.
Who writes Lovely Hours
Articles are published under the name of their author. For now, Lovely Hours is written by Sarah Bennett. We will introduce more writers here as the site grows.
We are not therapists, doctors or lawyers, and we do not present ourselves as such. Where a topic calls for professional expertise, such as mental health, child development or safety, we say so and point you to the right kind of help.
Editorial standards
- Useful first. Each article starts from a real question readers ask and answers it plainly.
- Reviewed before publication. Every article is read through before it goes live.
- Kind, not preachy. We avoid shame, blame and one-size-fits-all rules.
- Independent. No sponsor or partner influences what we write.
- Inclusive. Our examples reflect many kinds of couples, families and friendships.
Sources
When an article states a fact, a statistic or a research finding, we cite a reliable source at the end of the article, preferably a public health body, an official institution or peer-reviewed research. Where we cannot back a claim with a source, we keep to general guidance and everyday experience instead of presenting it as fact.
Examples and stories in our articles are illustrative: names and details are changed or invented.
How the site is funded
Lovely Hours is free to read and currently shows no advertising. If this changes, we will keep ads separate from the articles, mark any sponsored content clearly, and update our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy to explain how data is used.
Corrections policy
We make mistakes, and we want to fix them quickly. If you find an error, tell us. We review every report, and when we confirm a mistake we correct the article and update its date. For a significant correction, we add a short note at the end of the article saying what changed.
To report a correction, use the contact page.
